Two years ago, Travelex kicked off a digital transformation, supported by significant investment, to ensure continued growth in the future. We’ve made great progress so far, including the appointment of a Chief Digital Officer and launch of several new digital products across mobile / payments. More product launches (in several markets) are planned for the next 6-12 months.
The role:
Reporting to both the CEO, and the CFO, the Commercial Development team works on a broad range of commercial and change projects – product and channel commercial strategy/ insight, contract negotiation support, new market entry. The head of the team, Kate Kennedy, is the Commercial Director of Travelex and a member of Executive Committee.
- In this role, you would be part of a pool of ~8 Analysts, with the opportunity to work on the full range of issues within the remit of the CD team.
- You would report to one of the team managers (ex BCG, CVA)
- Assignments could include: developing route-to-market plan for new digital products, analysing opportunities to increase online customer retention or assessing the profitability of a potential new airport contract.
- This is a role that allows you to use your analytical skills in an operational, delivery focused environment. Rather than just advising, you will also support the implementation of new initiatives and see the results in terms of changed business activities and performance.
- A successful Commercial Analyst would have a range of opportunities open to them after 18-24 months of tenure, including progression within the CD team or a lateral move into a product or business development team.
Required Skills:
- Highly skilled in problem solving and analysis, likely gained as an associate/ analyst with a consulting firm, investment bank, accounting firm
- Strong lateral thinking skills to identify opportunities and ways to data gathering and triangulation where no reliable or consistent sources exist
- Able to combine numerical with non-numerical analysis to provide the ‘big picture’
- Strong communication skills and confidence in interactions with senior executives
- Strong sense of initiative – able to work independently and set pace and direction for goals and objectives
