2019 saw Movemeon’s business continue to enjoy good growth, thanks in particular to setting up dedicated capabilities in other geographies, expanding the team and refining both our start-up and corporate offerings.
Our increased reach and focus brought a hike of consultants and ex-consultants to the platform looking for their ideal freelance or permanent roles with an increasing range of exciting start-up, scale-up and consulting employers. Our community has grown to over 40,000 candidates and 3,200+ employers. We’ve been lucky to help 2,000+ people get to interview stage.
Specifically, we were privileged to provide support to the hiring process for over 70 senior roles in 2019, an increase of just under 100% from 2018, with around half of these being for CxO placements in fast-growing companies. We have a number of great new case studies on our website for your enjoyment.
Additionally, our freelance business saw over 20% growth in roles filled from 2018 to 2019. We developed a specific business unit dedicated to placing ex-consultants in contract roles including everything from commercial due diligence to digital transformation, with durations from 2 weeks to 12 months. We also authored our first ‘freelance report’, detailing the growth being enjoyed by the freelance market, the benefits of working with freelancers and a host of real-world project success stories. We’ve expanded globally
General Manager, Asia Pacific
Pete launched in the Asia-Pacific region this year from our new hub in Australia, building great relationships with clients such as Westpac, Endeavour Drinks, Woolworths, HelloFresh, JULO, TruTrip and ADAPTOVATE. Pete spent some time in Singapore meeting members, employer partners and some exciting new start-ups, with some trips planned in 2020 to some more parts of the region. Pete is looking to hire a client success manager for APAC to support our rapid growth in this part of the world.
German Team Lead
Sabrina has successfully launched Movemeon into DACH and we’ve tripled our numbers of both candidates and employers on the platform. We’ve welcomed great employers in our community, such as Delivery Hero, Aurelius or BASF. She travelled to Berlin and Munich to meet clients and candidates in person and is currently organising the first Movemeon Germany Event in Berlin. To support this successful growth, Sabrina will be hiring additional members for her German-speaking team in 2020!
French Team Lead
Clément launched the French market back in 2018, but this year the market size has tripled! Clément has been in the field with Nick, our co-founder, and they’ve been meeting a variety of people from Renault Head of Strategy, ex-French AT Kearney boss, Recruitment team at Vestiaire collective, several start-up founders to PE investment Managers. Clément is also happy to confirm the team will be growing in 2020!
We’ve co-hosted successful events
We’ve hosted great events with industry experts and developed an event hosting partnership with TechSpace. We’ve been happy to meet hundreds of you at those events and look forward to continuing doing so in 2020. It’s been great to collaborate with Ben Gately, Co-founder of Charlie HR, Adrian Blair, COO of ReceiptBank and more inspiring startup leaders.

We’ve grown our own teams
We’ve had great additions to the team in 2019 and are very proud of our company culture here at Movemeon. This year we welcomed Laila, Sabrina, Akshay, Pete, Jamie and Greg. We’re all very excited about 2020 and we’re entering the new year with amazing plans.
What’s planned for 2020
We’ve already hit the ground running in 2020 by making another handful of strategic hires to fuel our growth. Our focuses this year will include expanding our capabilities in APAC, French-speaking countries and Germany, as well as expanding our influence in the freelance space.
We will be placing even more experienced senior hires in both start-up and corporate roles and delivering on a number of exciting marketing campaigns, as well as building the 2020 edition of our ever-popular salary report (you can register your interest in receiving the report here).
Another key thing to look out for in 2020: our platform will evolve! We’re making it even easier for our candidates to explore career opportunities and our employers to hire relevant top-performing candidates.
