Where did you start your career/where are you going?

I started my career in strategy consulting right after graduating from a business school in Europe.

After a few years with Roland Berger, I decided to take on in-house strategy roles, firstly with in media (Vivendi in Paris) then having moved to Australia, telco (Optus in Sydney). I then worked for the Australian Government as Director of Digital Strategy and reported to the Chief Citizen Experience Officer.

What first attracted you to your new role and why did you want a change?

I was attracted by the breadth of topics I would be able to work on as part of the Group Strategy team at Westpac, and by the calibre of my future colleagues, which together poses an exciting challenge.

How has/will the move affect your work/life balance?

I started my new job during the pandemic and have been a first-hand witness of the increase in remote working. Now planning what these changes mean is part of my job! So let’s see..!

In your opinion, how does Movemeon differ from other platforms/agencies?

What I like about Movemeon is the specialisation of a type of candidate background. It saves clients a lot of time as Movemeon’s community is curated, so it means that shortlisting is much more efficient. For candidates on the other hand, it makes it much easier to find relevant jobs all in one place, and the job alerts and newsletter just make it so simple to stay across roles most interesting and relevant to you.

What advice would you give to other Movemeon candidates?

Make sure you are ready for the specifics of the recruiting process for the organisation you are applying for. For example, if it includes consulting-style case studies, start preparing ASAP in case you’re a bit rusty!
