About the Role
Reporting to the SailGP Commercial Strategy Director, the Commercial Associate will provide insightful and creative research to inform and drive the development of purpose-driven partnerships with leading brands and companies. The position will also provide the opportunity to lead on projects and initiatives that will support the Commercial Strategy Director and broader sales team. Key responsibilities include:
Research relevant industry trends and data to help continue to refine and enhance the commercial strategy and SailGP value proposition Research relevant prospect company business information, to support the development of the sales pipeline – including the development of briefs on prospect companies as well as packs on market sectors Support the SailGP global and regional sales teams in developing bespoke pitches and data driven business cases for commercial prospects Feed data insights to the commercial team to assist with the production of sales materials that demonstrate the value of SailGP, including decks, videos and other collaterals Collect, analyze and present commercial data, with a focus on providing insightful analysis to be immediately useful for the sales team Lead on the development and interpretation of SailGP audience insight to generate a strong understanding of SailGP fans and feed into sales materials/strategy and other SailGP departments Use data analysis to spot trends that will inform the future business strategy
About you
The position requires a creative and experienced professional with extensive knowledge of best practice in insights and data analysis. Experience in the sports and/or events industry is also a positive. Other requirements include:
Extensive knowledge of best practice in insights and data analysis. Excellence in conducting analysis on large and complex datasets. Ability to synthesize abstract data sources and draw meaningful insights, recommendations and conclusions Experience in visualizing data and presenting in a clear manner (the ability to use data analysis and visualization tools is desirable) Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to develop creative solutions to problems through the analysis of data Strong written and verbal communications skills Strong interest in sports and a working knowledge of how sports properties operate is desirable Culturally sensitive and able to effectively work globally. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
