About Funding Circle

When Funding Circle was founded, we could see that businesses weren’t being given the finance to grow, while investors were making poor returns. We had a simple idea — let them support each other. By lending directly to businesses through Funding Circle, investors can earn attractive returns to better provide for their future. Businesses get fast, easy access to funding to grow, create jobs, support local communities and drive the economy forward.

Now one of the best capitalised lending platforms in the world, we have raised approximately £250 million of equity capital since 2010, from some of the largest and most sophisticated investors around. Our backers collectively manage over $5 trillion and are the leading firms behind Facebook, Twitter, Skype and Betfair; current equity investors include Accel Partners, Baillie Gifford, BlackRock, DST Global, Index Ventures, Ribbit Capital, Sands Capital, Temasek and Union Square Ventures.

The Role

We are seeking a top-performing smart and motivated individual to join an exciting and fast-growing business (currently doubling year on year and continuing on that trajectory).

You will support, develop and drive the performance of the Direct Lending Business Unit, responsible for all borrowers applying through our website. You will look across every angle of the business from our compelling customer proposition, to our best-in-class technology products, to our sophisticated marketing and sales strategies – and make sure we are focused on delivering our ambitious commercial strategy.

The role is varied, with exposure across the entire business and will involve working closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Product teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the UK Head of Direct Lending to shape the growth strategy and support with special projects, such as new channel strategy or tailoring our customer experience for key segments
  • Developing new product propositions for borrowers; planning and driving the implementation and go-to-market strategy for them
  • Supporting teams across the business to improve business-as-usual processes
  • Working closely with Product, Marketing and Sales teams to lead, plan, project manage and support the implementation of changes
  • Coordinate weekly and monthly forums to monitor performance and evaluate potential projects and change

The Candidate

  • This will suit a candidate with a minimum of 2 years’ experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm*
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to draw strategic insights from analysis and communicate concisely and effectively with junior and senior stakeholders within and outside the business
  • Experience leading and managing own modules of work
  • Adaptability and willingness to roll sleeves up and get involved with all parts of the business
  • Collaborative; comfortable working across several different teams
  • Excited about improving access to finance for SMEs and about seeing your recommendations come alive
  • Experience in financial services not essential, but an advantage

*The above qualification and experience level is a guide and does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience, provided the requisite skills can be demonstrated.

Practicalities:

Compensation: £55k + bonus + options

Location: central London (City)
