Gelmetix is a UK-based startup, specialised in therapeutic bio-gels. Our goal is to develop non- invasive alternatives to surgery. Our first product (already developed) is a bio-gel injected between disks to treat chronic low back pain.

About the role

Gelmetix develops multiple grades of polymer gel to provide affordable non-invasive alternatives to surgery for conditions like Chronic Lower Back pain and Osteoarthritis. You will work closely with the CBO, supporting business development and investor relations, and the Head of Strategy, on company strategic missions. You will assist with, or be responsible for a combination of tasks across IR, BD, strategic, financial and operational content.

The team is very experienced and combines complementary expertise: technical, business, healthcare… Most team members have already created businesses and realised a successful exit! We have already raised several million pounds and are looking for new talent to join the adventure to assist the CBO (Chief Business Officer) and the Head of Strategy.

Culturally we sit in between corporate and tech startup. We work in a structured way, in an experienced team which has done it all before but combine this with the fast-paced excitement of an early stage startup.

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from top tier university. MBA preferred but not required.

1-2 years of experience in management/strategy consulting or investment banking

Excited by the opportunity to engage in a hands-on, high impact role at a funded, growing startup

Key responsibilities

In addition to handling ad-hoc and sometimes urgent day-to-day issues, you will be in charge of the following:

Preparation and participation in Gelmetix meetings with external parties: investors, potential corporate and strategic partners etc.

Assist in key analysis: market entry, development strategy etc.

Support all aspects of preparation for upcoming fundraising: business plan, legal documents, liaison with lawyers, bankers

Act as the primary point of contact for existing and potential investors

Proactively research and approach potential angel investors, angel networks and VCs

Take initial calls to provide potential investors with a compelling and professional introduction to Gelmetix

Evaluate all potential investors to identify the most promising leads and cultivate these relationships to achieve successful investment

Implement and follow-up on the development of partnerships with third parties

Support corporate communications, including the generation of news content and social media oversight

 

Requirements

Strong communication skills, both internally and with external stakeholders

Autonomous, hands-on and not afraid to get stuck in when needed
