Mount Capital – Alcian Concentrated Equity Strategy
Mount Capital is a privately owned investment office based in St James’s, London, investing across a range of assets including Public Equities, Private Equity and Hedge Funds.
The Alcian Fund is a successful and fast growing hedge-fund within Mount Capital, employing a private equity approach (diligence approach, decision making approach, similar high concentration) to public equity investments with a focus on mid to large cap public equities.
The work provides both flexibility (the ability to go long and to short, as well as to hedge other risks) and depth of insight (our analysis before investing typically takes 2-3 months).
The team
The Alcian investment team (4 investment professionals today, siting within the larger Mount Capital investment and operations teams) has alumni from leading consultancies, private equity firms and hedge funds. This is a great, collaborative environment to learn about investment and the real drivers of value creation.
The role – Investment Analyst
The role will be focused on primary research and due diligence. While the investment mandate is unconstrained equities and global in nature, the focus is on mid-large cap stocks in developed markets.
The Investment Analyst will look at both macro trends and deep analysis into understanding the performance of individual businesses. This analysis will drive investment decisions made by the Investment Committee, at which the whole investment team sits.
You’ll be expected to progress quickly, with growing autonomy to analyse businesses and drive investment decisions.
