About Enveritas

Enveritas is a startup nonprofit that offers a new model of verifying sustainability in the coffee sector. It was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in New York. We have a diverse, global team with backgrounds in sustainable agriculture, management consulting, technology, data science, and public policy. To complement this team, we are looking for a highly-motivated Data Manager to help us build our operations across Central America.

We are building solutions for smallholder coffee farmers that are currently beyond the reach of existing sustainability certification or verification approaches. Consumers are increasingly asking if the brands they trust are “sustainable” – that is, produced under acceptable social, economic and environmental practices. Companies have responded by setting targets for becoming “100% sustainable”. However, existing approaches for verifying sustainability face challenges reaching farmers that are too small, too remote, or informally organized. We’ve developed a rigorous, scalable and transparent method of verification that works in this underserved space and are rolling it out globally.

 The Role

  • Develop a systematic approach to data analysis for the region and adapt analytic tools to work in Central America
  • Identifying how to pilot operations in new countries in the region and strengthen the analytical skills of country managers, and train teams of data collectors.
  • Become an expert in regional sustainability and tell stories about the issues through data.
  • You’ll be the Central America data expert across 5+ countries, overseeing accurate and consistent scoring of farmer sustainability data.
  • You’ll help us to identify trends and variance in the hundreds of surveys we receive each week.
  • You will work with our operations teams to explain what we see in the data, identify problems that need to be solved, and follow up on data quality issues.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ relevant work experience in consulting, business or finance and an excellent academic record
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; flexible problem-solving attitude and a background in analysis or statistics.
  • Availability for regular travels to each country of operation in Central America
  • Clear track record of working in a fast-paced, multicultural team environment.
  • A driving desire to alleviate poverty and make the world a better place.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Experience in Central American business, the coffee sector, international development or sustainable agriculture would be highly beneficial but not required

Location: Flexible within Central America (sponsorship available)
Salary: $60k – $90k  (depending on experience)
