An in-depth description of the role
Deadline for applications: 9am, Thursday 15th August 2019
Start date: Ideally the project would commence either 27th August, or 2nd September.
Duration: initial 2 weeks then other projects / ongoing support quarterly envisaged (we are looking to build a relationship with someone that we can draw back into the business on an on-going ad-hoc basis)

Smartr365 is a fast-growing fintech mortgage platform with its head office based in Hammersmith, London. Founded in 2017, Smartr365 employs a team of over 25 professionals and developers. Smartr365 provides mortgage advisers with an end-to-end software platform and is the first truly cloud-based business application. The businesses is owned by the founder and in 2018, received investment from Legal & General. Conor founded both Capricorn Financial and Smartr365 Technology and continues to operate as CEO for both businesses steering them through their ongoing expansion.
About the Founder
Conor founded both Capricorn Financial and Smartr365. Capricorn Financial is the largest independent mortgage brokerage in London – lending £1.7bn in 2018 – and Smartr365 is the leading cloud-based platform for mortgage advisers in the UK, backed by Legal & General. A serial entrepreneur, Conor also founded and runs two property businesses, Arch Estates and CDCJ Investments.
About the Role
You will be working with Conor to help formalise and document the Strategy documents for Smartr365 and to create an ongoing management system around these documents. The expected outputs to the role include:
- Updated Mission and Value statements
- Company overview and Strategy word doc
- Q1/Q2/H2/3 year/5 year strategic delivery plan
- Successful implementation of a process to monitor/manage and update the above (e.g, quarterly review, how to get input/buy-in from team members, investors etc).
This is expected to be a 1-2 week initial engagement, with ongoing quarterly involvement and the opportunity for further engagement in other areas of the business, as appropriate. Also worth noting that Smartr365 sits within the L&G Fintech division, which includes a number of similar businesses, at various states of maturity, who may well require similar input.
