Maisons du Monde currently employs -5000 people, has an annual turnover of €700m, and has been growing at a double-digit rate over the past 20 years.

In September 2013, Bain Capital acquired Maisons du Monde, and set out an ambitious plan together with the management team, to further accelerate Maisons du Monde’s profitable growth over the next few years.

The Role

This job is a unique opportunity to work directly with the top management of Maisons du Monde, and to become a key player in one of the most exciting growth stories in European retail.

Join Maisons du Monde as a direct report to the Head of the Store Network, and become his right hand person who takes the day-to-day lead on key strategic projects (including credit offering, click-and-collect, store digitalization, omnichannel and international growth and development initiatives), and manages the overall portfolio of on-going projects.

We expect the Strategic Projects Manager to take full ownership of his/her assigned projects and ensure a successful and timely delivery. In addition, we expect him/her to act as a coach and facilitator to other staff members who are responsible for specific projects, to provide advice and support, and to bring key insights on how other industry players are tackling similar topics. He/she is responsible for the overall delivery of the project portfolio, and for maintaining a strong coherence between projects, in line with MdM’s overall strategy, but also allowing for adaptations to project-specific needs, opportunities and constraints.

He/she will act as a key interface between all functions (HR, Logistics, Merchandising, Marketing, E-Commerce, etc.) that have an impact on the in-store customer experience, and will as such help determine the required evolution in each function to become truly omnichannel.

The Team

You will become a key player with the store network leadership team, who together manage over 3000 people working in our stores. This team is being led by a highly experienced executive, and has recently embarked on an ambitious strategic plan to accelerate its growth and performance. The position is located in Nantes, with frequent travel across Europe. You will also work closely with several other Maisons du Monde senior executives and their teams, including HR, Logistics, E-Commerce, Merchandizing, Customer Service, IT, etc., and become a key link between the different teams.
