If you are a senior executive likely to be relevant for our ‘Search’ opportunities (senior roles where we have been mandated on a retained basis), you don’t need to do anything differently. We will still post all opportunities on our platform, so as long as your profile (CV and preferences) is up to date and job alerts are switched on, you will be notified of these roles as soon as they come up. We may also contact you proactively for a conversation if we feel you are a particularly good fit for a specific role, but please note that we generally do not make speculative introductions to our clients.
As a freelancer/contractor via Movemeon, you contract directly with the client. This means you agree a day rate and invoice them directly, giving you full control and transparency (we ask only that you cc/bcc us on your invoices so we can keep track).
Whether you operate as a sole trader or set up a limited company is down to personal preference and typical income, and most contractors choose to take out professional indemnity insurance.
Movemeon has a number of resources available to help you benchmark: compensation insights based on a survey of 5,000 Movemeon members can be found here.
Wherever possible, we will be transparent about the expected salary or approximate day rate for the opportunities we share on the platform. As mentioned in the ‘how to maximise your chances of success’ FAQ, it’s not always in your best interests to apply at the top end of the budget if you are actually open to negotiation. Transparency about the approximate range you would consider is always better at the early stages of a process, to help maximise your chances of an interview.
Movemeon curates roles that often can't be found elsewhere; hiring managers (often Movemeon members themselves) come to us because they want to access candidates directly, but they don't want to be inundated with hundreds of applications that aren't relevant.
Our dedicated account managers have regular meetings with every client that is currently hiring through Movemeon; our role is to secure you an interview and make sure you receive feedback if you are unsuccessful for any reason.
By applying through Movemeon you are maximising your chances that the hiring manager will review your application and take you through to interview, and you are guaranteed to hear back either way.

Register your interest in joining our community via the buttons on this page (Roundtable access is free for community members). You'll be asked to complete a short form so we can understand how best to match you to a Roundtable group (for example, Roundtables are formed of professionals at the same seniority level, in the same city and in non-competing organisations). We'll reply to confirm your eligibility and then kick off your Roundtable as soon as 8 suitable professionals have applied. Please note that we do cannot guarantee a Roundtable place to all of our community members, as it requires 8 suitable professionals to have applied.
Roundtables are free for members of the Movemeon community.
Where Roundtable members live in the same region, they may choose to meet in person as well as virtually. However, there is no requirement to meet in-person as Roundtables are self governing and should operate along the lines agreed within the group.
Roundtables are self-governing so it is up to you and your group how often you'd like to meet, for how long and with what level of preparation. Typically Roundtables meet 4-6 times per year for ~90 minutes per session. In advance of each session the group shares ideas for discussion and agrees which are a priority to add to the agenda.
