About the company

Our client, a globally leading Industrial Materials & Engineering business was looking for an experienced senior figure to act as Head of Strategy at a critically important growth phase for the business. The Interim Head of Strategy would be responsible for leading growth strategy and wider strategic initiatives.

Job requirements

• Experience at a top-tier strategy firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain) who has demonstrable experience of leading strategic initiatives in a large scale business
• Sector experience across industrials is a must (steel, iron, chemicals, oil & gas, LNG, utilities etc)

• 4 years strategy consulting experience at McKinsey, promoted through from Associate to Engagement Managersome text
  • Developed a pricing strategy for a leading chemicals company based on data-driven and value-based pricing models to create an uplift of €320m in EBIDTA
  • Led a strategic review of a large chemical business unit and developed a forward plan to reverse a trend in declining profitability by leveraging commercial and operational levers
• 5 years experience operating as Global Strategy Execution & Commercial Excellence Manager for a global manufacturing business.some text
  • Shaped and lead the execution of strategy & commercial excellence projects, developing comprehensive plan, and ensuring the clear execution globally to drive market share & profitability gains
  • Lead the annual strategic and business planning processes, annual budget plans, optimise and accelerate growth, ensure cross-regional and cross-functional delivery of strategic priorities
  • Identify and address major strategic and operational areas in value creation, ie. go-to-market strategy, revenue acceleration, product development and branding, cost optimisation, development of operational/financial KPIs and dashboards
